# Website integration

> Connect an independent CMS to Webdock without exposing administrative credentials.

A Webdock website keeps its own Payload schema and runtime. Central identity and Console provide access to that site through configured SSO and protected server-side bridges.

## Identity and inventory

The CMS inventory instance ID and Auth website binding ID are different identifiers. Keep their explicit mapping; do not infer it from a name, email address or matching-looking ID.

A CMS inventory record alone does not provision an instance or establish SSO. Configure the relying client, website binding, central membership and the website's protected integration.

## Use the shared packages

The monorepo includes `@webdock/payload-sso`, `@webdock/instance-kit` and `@webdock/cms-ui`. Follow the existing website integration and package contracts instead of adding a second password system.

Native Payload credentials and account screens are disabled when enforced SSO is active. Local user records are managed identity projections. Server-side APIs must still enforce current tenant and website authorization.

## Content boundaries

Keep draft, preview and published state separate. Do not publish unsaved preview state or silently overwrite version conflicts. Canvas features require the website's matching integration; not every CMS schema becomes editable through a generic designer.

<Warning>Administrative bridge secrets belong only in the server environment. Never put them in browser code, mobile clients, public examples or content fields.</Warning>
